Monday, June 11, 2018 presents a unique opportunity for the people of this area. Two high school groups from St. Croix Falls, WI will present a concert at the Frankfort United Methodist Church at 7:30 p.m. The school's Chamber Choir and Jazz Band will present most of the concert as part of their spring tour. Mr. Chris Bergh holds the baton as the Jazz Band director, and Mr. Shawn Gudmunsen directs the Chamber Choir. The connection between Benzie County and St. Croix Falls, which is on the far west side of the state, may seem like an odd pairing. But St. Croix Falls is where the Rev. Dinah Haag, currently pastor at First Congregational Church of Frankfort, headed the choral department for seven years. Mr. Gudmunsen is one of her former students. Although there will be a basket for a free-will offering, raising money is not the goal of the evening. The goal is to experience the great potential that lies in your young people, and the joy that music can bring to all ages. So bring your family, your neighbors and friends for a evening that is sure to be a delight! Frankfort United Methodist Church is located at 537 Crystal Ave. For more information, you can call 231-651-0311.

We take this opportunity to invite you to attend SOUND OF SUMMER, BC3’s musical offering for June and July of 2018. Director Dinah Haag and the 50+ member group have been working since February on an exciting and innovative show designed for your listening pleasure.
Our theme for this year is A Day At The Beach. Because we are fortunate to live in beautiful Northern Michigan, we’ll begin with a couple of songs to set the mood for our adventure. Pure Imagination and the anthem Michigan Morn are designed to prepare you for our adventure in happiness. And speaking of happiness, that’s exactly what you’ll feel when you hear songs like Here Comes The Sun, Get Happy, Walking on Sunshine, and Happy Together. We’ll take in a ball game after a visit to the soda shop and a couple of tunes from the tabletop jukebox.
The second half will open with followed by a Steve Zegree arrangement of It Had to Be You and then it's a stroll with The Girl from Ipanema and Barbara Ann before tackling a wonderful medley of familiar tunes from the pen of the Beach Boys. As our day at the beach moves along toward sunset, we change the mood with the haunting Seven Bridges Road, closing our day at the beach with the beautiful Ballade to the Moon with words and music by Daniel Elder and God of the Deep from the pen of Dan Forrest. As always, you may expect a few surprises along the way in the form of solos, and small group performances interspersed among the choral arrangements.
Once again, our accompanist is the multi-talented Christi Case. We are delighted to have her with us providing her keyboard magic.
Our performance schedule is five shows – three in June and two in July. The June dates are Saturday, Sunday and Monday, June 23, 25 and 25; the July dates are Sunday and Monday, July 8 and 9. All shows are at 7:30 and will be performed in the auditorium at Benzie Central High School. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children 16 and under. All tickets are general admission. There is no reserved seating. Seating capacity for each show is 190. You may order tickets by phone by calling the chorus box office at (231) 399-0292 or by clicking on the Summer 2018 link above. We know many of you like to support us beyond our ticket sales. Donations are used to offset any summer music camp scholarships we award and to meet the expenses of new music for our shows. Donations in check form can be sent to PO Box 1525 Frankfort MI 49635-9800. We are grateful for all forms of support, and, hopefully, look forward to seeing you at what promises to be an exciting and fun-filled Day At The Beach.
